Description

Straight sides and squared corners give this small shade a neat, tailored outline, with taupe faux silk facing outward and a halo gold lining inside. The gold warms the light as it drops onto the table below, while the taupe reads as a soft greyish beige that settles quietly against painted walls and wood. It is a compact piece, cut for bedside and side table lamps rather than tall floor standards.

Pair it with a slim table lamp beside a bed, or on a hall console where the rectangular shape follows the line of the furniture. It can sit on a lamp or hang from a pendant flex, so the same shade can do duty in a bedroom alcove or a small study. We reach for it when a round shade looks too soft beside square-edged furniture, and we would put a golf ball LED of up to 40W behind it.

Both faces are faux silk fabric, the outer in taupe and the inner in a gold that gives the shade its halo name, and the sheen is gentle rather than glassy. Dust it with a dry soft brush or a clean paint brush every few weeks, working along the weave rather than across it, and keep water, sprays and solvents away from the fabric altogether. If a mark does appear, lift it dry rather than damp. It carries a one year warranty.
