Description

A small oval in taupe faux silk, this shade brings a warm, settled light to a lamp base or a hanging flex. The halo gold lining sits behind the fabric and gives the glow more depth than the muted taupe outside would suggest. Faux silk holds a gentle sheen rather than a hard shine, so it catches lamplight softly and looks calm when switched off. The oval keeps the width down where a round shade of the same height would spread across a narrow surface.

It suits close quarters: a bedside table, a console in a hallway, a slim shelf in a study, or a small pendant over a reading chair. We reach for it when a lamp needs dressing without adding bulk, and it sits happily against brass, warm wood and painted metal bases. An LED golf ball is the lamp we would put inside, up to 40W, which is plenty for a shade of this size. It can be used on a table lamp or hung from a pendant.

The faux silk is stretched taut, with the taupe outer face and the gold interior finished neatly at the edges, and it is light enough to lift on and off without fuss. Dust gently with a soft brush, working along the seams rather than across them, and keep it well away from steam and splashes. It carries a one year warranty.
