Black faux silk, drawn over a shallow oval rather than a full round, so the shade sits neatly against a wall or in the narrow space beside a bed. The lining is a white laminate, which keeps the light coming through clean and bright rather than tinted. At 11cm across its narrow side it is a small shade, taller than it is deep, with a quiet upright shape that flatters a slim lamp base.

We use shades like this on bedside lamps where a round one would overhang the edge of the table, and on a hall console pushed close against the wall. It is non-electric, so it takes its light from whatever you pair it with, whether that is a table lamp or a flex hung as a pendant.
