Faux silk in a soft nude beige, made as an oval rather than a round, so it reads slimmer from the side and sits neatly against a wall on its narrow axis. The pale moonlight lining inside keeps the light warm and gentle rather than glaring, and the beige outer glows quietly once the lamp is on. At roughly 18cm on the long axis and 11cm on the short, this is a small shade, close in scale to a pair of cupped hands.

It suits bedside lamps, a dressing table pair, or a slim console where a round shade would hang over the edges. Because the fitting is dual mount, it can also drop from a pendant flex, which makes it handy either side of a bed or over a landing table. We reach for this one where space is tight and a fuller shade would look bulky. A golf ball LED lamp of up to 40W is the right partner, and the shade takes its lamp from whichever base or pendant you fit it to.
