Small and oval in plan, this shade in faux silk carries an ivory pearl face with a white laminate lining, so the light it throws stays warm and clean. The oval footprint takes up less depth than a round shade of similar width, which matters on a narrow bedside table or a shallow shelf. We sell it as a non-electric shade, ready for a base you already own or one you are buying alongside it.

It suits bedside lamps and small table lamps in bedrooms and studies, and it is equally at home on a pendant flex above a hall table. We would choose a golf ball LED for the host fitting, since it sits within the shade's proportions and leaves the fabric to do the work. Either side of a bed they read neatly; on its own the shade is quiet enough not to compete with patterned walls or a busy shelf. Ivory pearl sits comfortably alongside cream, oak and warm grey.

Faux silk gives the outside a soft sheen, while the white laminate lining keeps the inner surface bright. Weight is slight, so the shade tips the balance of a small base very little.
