Description

A broad, shallow drum in black organza, 60cm across and only 15cm deep, so it sits as a wide ring of fabric rather than a tall shade. The weave is sheer, so the sides glow softly when the lamp is on and the black reads as a dark halo rather than a solid block. Because the depth is modest against that width, it spreads light outwards across a room instead of driving it all straight down.

The proportions suit a room with a little height to play with: over a long dining table, above a stairwell landing, or centred in a bedroom where you want the ceiling to feel calmer. It is a non-electric shade, so the lamp belongs to the fitting it goes on, and we would choose a warm LED GLS bulb of up to 20W to keep the fabric looking rich rather than washed out.
