Description

A wide, shallow cylinder cut from faux silk, 35cm across and low in the drop, so it reads as a broad band of soft colour rather than a tall drum. The outer face is nude beige, a warm neutral sitting somewhere between cream and pale blush, while the inner face is a lighter moonlight tone that brightens the light on its way through. The fabric has the quiet sheen of silk without the upkeep, and the straight profile holds a clean line against a plain base or a bare flex.

It is made for dual mounting, so it will sit on a table or floor lamp base or hang from a pendant flex, which helps when you want the same shade doing two jobs in one room. The generous diameter throws light sideways as well as down, making it a good choice above a console, a bedside chest or a reading chair where a broad wash beats a narrow beam. We would reach for a warm white LED GLS lamp here, kept within the 20W maximum.

The finish is consistent right around the cylinder, with a tidy seam and clean edges top and bottom. To keep it fresh, run a dry soft brush or the upholstery tool of a vacuum lightly around the shade, following the curve rather than scrubbing across it; faux silk marks once damp, so keep water, polishes and sprays away from it. It carries a one year warranty. The same cylinder shape runs through the range in smaller sizes, and in black, white, grey, ivory pearl and taupe should beige not be your tone, with two versions in sheer organza as well.
