Serava Large Alabaster Asymmetric Suspension Light - Brown Leather & Brass

The Serava is a 1670mm asymmetric suspension light built around a curved tube of natural Spanish alabaster, suspended from three brass canopies by brown leather belts. The 100mm-diameter alabaster section twists into a continuous ribbon shape, lit from within by an integrated 3000K LED that turns the stone itself into the diffuser. Each leather strap buckles around the alabaster at a different point, holding the form in its sculptural curve.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands, stairwells and open-plan living spaces with ceilings of 2.7m or higher, the Serava reads as a horizontal sculpture rather than a conventional pendant. The 1500mm cable drop on each of the three canopies is adjustable on installation, allowing the alabaster ribbon to be set 700-800mm above a dining surface. The asymmetric profile gives a different silhouette from every angle, so the fitting works above tables viewed from multiple sides of a room.

Combining alabaster with leather and brass creates a contrast of textures within a single warm palette. The Spanish alabaster shows natural mineral veining and tonal variation across its length, with no two sections identical. The brown saddle-leather belts add a tactile, hand-finished element against the smooth polished stone, while the brushed brass canopies pick up the warm tones of both materials. Each Serava is assembled and finished by hand, so individual pieces vary slightly in veining and curve.

What ceiling height does the Serava need?

The 1500mm cable drop is adjustable on installation, but the asymmetric alabaster form sits roughly 400mm tall once suspended. A minimum ceiling height of 2.7m is recommended so the fitting clears head height above a dining table. Higher ceilings allow the cables to be left longer for a more dramatic drop.

Does the alabaster look the same on every piece?

No. Each Serava uses natural Spanish alabaster, so the mineral veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. The exact curve of the ribbon also varies slightly because each one is assembled and finished by hand.

Is the LED replaceable?

The Serava uses an integrated LED running on 230V mains at 3000K warm white. The LED is not user-replaceable in the same way a screw-in bulb is. The fitting carries a 2-year warranty.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners, and do not soak the stone. The leather belts can be lightly dusted with a dry cloth.
