Description
A shallow round plate carries three spot heads, each waiting on a GU10 reflector lamp, and the plate measures 25cm across. It holds close to the ceiling, so the fitting reads as a neat disc rather than something with height to it. The matt white finish is flat and low in sheen, which stops the heads catching the eye when the light is off. Switched on, the light comes out in defined pools rather than one even wash, which is what you want from a spotlight rather than a shade.
We fit spotlights like this in kitchens, hallways, landings and home offices, anywhere one ceiling point has to cover a whole small room. It is one we reach for where a pendant would hang too low, over a walkway or in a bedroom with a lower ceiling. Aimed at a worktop, a run of shelves or a stairwell wall, three heads give you working light and a little shape at the same time. It runs on a plain on/off switch rather than a dimmer, so it suits rooms where you want full light the moment you walk in. Keep it to dry rooms; steam and splashes are not its territory.
The body is finished matt white right through, heads included, so it sits quietly against a painted ceiling without a bright edge anywhere. Wipe the plate and heads with a dry duster now and then, once the lamps have gone cold, and leave polishes and sprays well alone, as they will gloss up a matt surface unevenly. It carries a one year warranty. The same round fitting is offered in matt black, and the wider Sal range runs to linear spotlights, recessed spotlights, switched wall lights and linear pendant spotlights, so you can carry one look from a hall through to a kitchen. Lamps are not included.

Frequently Asked
What lamps does it take?
Three GU10 lamps, one per head. We would use 50mm LED reflector lamps, up to 10W each.
Can it be dimmed?
No. It is a non-dimmable fitting, so use a standard switch. Fitting dimmable lamps will not make it dim.
How much room does it need on the ceiling?
The round plate is 250mm in diameter and the fitting stands 128mm deep, so it needs a clear circle of about 25cm.
Is it suitable for a bathroom?
It is rated IP20, so we would keep it to dry rooms such as kitchens, halls and bedrooms rather than shower rooms.
How do I clean the matt white finish?
A dry microfibre cloth is all it needs. Avoid cream cleaners and polish, which can leave shiny patches on a matt paint.
Does the finish match the rest of the Sal range?
Yes, the matt white is consistent across the Sal linear spotlights, recessed spotlights and switched wall lights.
