Description

The Sal is a single-light wall fitting with a cylindrical pivoting head mounted on a 100mm circular backplate, finished in matt black. A rocker switch on the backplate allows the light to be controlled without reaching for a wall switch. The head tilts on its mounting arm, directing light up, down or forward depending on the angle set during use. The fitting takes a single GU10 bulb (sold separately) with power consumption dependent on the bulb chosen.

Designed for bedside positions, reading chairs and hallway accent lighting, the Sal provides directed task light where a fixed ceiling fitting cannot reach. The 165mm projection from the wall gives clearance to aim the head without the beam hitting the wall surface directly. The matt black finish absorbs reflections and suits industrial, contemporary and monochrome interiors. The rocker switch allows the light to be turned on and off without leaving the bed or chair.

The fitting weighs 0.55kg when mounted and accepts GU10 LED, halogen or eco-halogen bulbs rating marked on the socket (see Specification table). The head diameter is approximately 60mm with a depth of 100mm when angled forward. The 385mm total height includes the backplate, arm and head. The fitting operates on 100-240V mains voltage, making it compatible with UK installations and international use where the voltage range applies.

The rocker switch removes the need for a separate wall plate, useful where wiring a switch would be awkward. A 4-6W warm white LED at 2700K or 3000K suits close reading, and the pivoting head lets you move the beam off the page when a wider spread is wanted.

What bulb does it take?

The Sal takes a single GU10 bulb (sold separately). We suggest fitting a 4-6W LED GU10 in warm white (2700K-3000K) for reading positions, or a higher wattage for accent lighting. Check the maximum wattage marked on the socket before fitting a bulb.

Can the head be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The cylindrical head pivots on the mounting arm, allowing you to tilt it up, down or forward to direct light where needed. The angle can be adjusted by hand without tools.

Is the rocker switch on the fitting itself?

Yes. The rocker switch is built into the circular backplate, allowing the light to be turned on and off without needing a separate wall switch. This makes it particularly useful for bedside and reading chair positions.

What fixing method is used?

The fitting mounts to a standard wall using screws through the circular backplate. The backplate diameter is 100mm. The cable entry point is at the rear of the backplate, so the cable is concealed once the fitting is mounted to the wall.
