Description

This RJ45 inline coupler joins two standard Ethernet cables end-to-end, providing a female-to-female connection that extends cable runs without re-terminating. The coupler accepts Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6a cables with standard RJ45 plugs on both sides, maintaining signal integrity across the join for data rates up to 10Gbps depending on the cable grade used.

Designed for extending network cables in CCTV installations, home networks, and office data cabling where a single cable run falls short of the required distance, the coupler sits inline between two existing cables rather than requiring new terminations or patch panels. The shielded metal RJ45 ports reduce interference on runs carrying PoE (Power over Ethernet) traffic to IP cameras or access points.

The compact 37mm x 20mm x 20mm moulded plastic housing weighs 26g and can be tucged behind equipment racks, under desks, or inside cable management trays without adding bulk to the cable path. The black thermoplastic casing resists impact and the metal-shielded RJ45 sockets provide a firm click-fit connection that won't pull apart under light cable tension.

What cable types does this coupler support?

The coupler accepts standard RJ45-terminated cables including Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6a. The maximum data rate depends on the cable grade — Cat5e supports up to 1Gbps, Cat6 up to 10Gbps over shorter runs, and Cat6a up to 10Gbps over full 100m distances.

Does it support PoE (Power over Ethernet)?

Yes. The shielded RJ45 ports pass both data and power, so the coupler works with PoE, PoE+ and PoE++ devices such as IP cameras, access points and VoIP phones without signal degradation.

Will joining cables affect network speed?

Any inline join introduces a small amount of signal loss, but for runs under the maximum cable length (100m total including both cables and the coupler) the effect on speed is negligible for most applications. Avoid using multiple couplers in series on the same cable run.

Can it be used outdoors or in damp locations?

The coupler is not weatherproof or IP-rated. For outdoor or damp installations, house the coupler inside a weatherproof junction box or enclosure to protect it from moisture.
