Description

A spare light engine for the Haysi and Skelly fittings, this is a slim white disc 62mm across with the diodes set into its face. The light is warm at 3000K, the gentler end of white, and it draws 10W. The diodes are fixed in place, so there is no lamp to change within it. It is not a dimming part, so it works with a plain on and off switch.

We stock it for anyone who already owns either of those fittings and has watched the light dim or fail. A module costs a good deal less than a new fitting, and where the housing is still sound we would rather change the part than the whole thing. It is the sort of small spare we think worth keeping in a drawer, ready for the evening a light quietly gives up. It suits the rooms those fittings tend to serve: a hallway, a stairwell, a landing left lit through the evening. It is a dry indoor part, so keep it to rooms inside the house rather than a bathroom zone or anywhere it might meet the weather.

The face is white and the body sits low, weighing very little in the hand. The white face is unobtrusive within a pale housing, and there is no colour cast to it when lit. To clean it, switch off at the wall, let it cool, then pass a dry lint free cloth across the face; nothing damp, and no sprays or solvents near the diodes. The module carries a three year warranty. The Skelly wall light it serves is something we stock in anthracite, and this is the part that keeps that fitting earning its place rather than sitting dark.
