Description

The Remy is a 368mm flush ceiling light combining a heavy iron frame in heritage bronze with a decorative Parisienne gold circle overlay across all four sides and a central bronze organza shade. The fitting takes two E27 bulbs (sold separately) housed inside the organza diffuser, which softens the light and prevents glare in rooms with ceiling heights under 2.4m.

Designed for low-ceiling applications where pendant fittings would hang too low, the Remy suits hallways, bedroom ceilings, en-suites and entrance halls. The 238mm projection from the ceiling means the fitting sits close to the surface without protruding into head space, while the organza shade provides enough diffusion to work as ambient light rather than directional. The geometric circle pattern on the gold overlay contrasts with the angular box frame, giving the fitting decorative presence without requiring height.

The heritage bronze is a dark, oil-rubbed finish with visible texture variation that pairs with both traditional oak furniture and contemporary dark-toned interiors. The Parisienne gold sits over the bronze frame as a separate layer, creating depth where the two metals overlap. What bulbs does the Remy take?

The fitting takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient lighting in bedrooms and hallways.

What ceiling height does it need?

The 238mm projection means the fitting works well in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or above. Below this height the fitting may feel visually intrusive, though functionally it still operates as intended.

Is the Remy suitable for bathrooms?

The fitting does not carry an IP rating and is not designed for bathroom zones. It can be used in well-ventilated bathrooms outside the designated zones, but avoid installation directly above baths or showers.

How is the organza shade cleaned?

The bronze organza is enclosed inside the metal frame, so dust accumulation is minimal. If cleaning is needed, switch off power at the consumer unit, remove the fitting from the ceiling rose, and use a barely-damp microfibre cloth on the fabric. Allow to dry fully before refitting.
