Description

The Rekor IP deep base is a white aluminium mounting box designed for Rekor IP dome cameras, providing a 70mm-deep chamber for cable management and surface mounting on walls or ceilings where conduit installation is not possible. The base measures 140mm in diameter and features a single 25mm cable entry point with a compression grommet to maintain weatherproofing once cables are routed through.

Designed for outdoor CCTV installations where the camera cable needs to exit a solid wall or soffit rather than running through internal conduit, the deep base conceals the cable run and provides a sealed mounting point between the camera and the building surface. The base is compatible with the Rekor RC228FDW 2MP dome camera and other Rekor IP dome models with matching fixing patterns.

The aluminium construction resists corrosion in exterior environments and provides a solid anchor point for the camera's weight. At 236g net weight, the base adds minimal load to the mounting surface. The white powder-coated finish matches standard Rekor IP dome housings, giving a clean appearance on light-coloured walls and soffits without needing separate painting.

The deep base is designed for use with the Rekor RC228FDW 2MP dome camera and other Rekor IP dome models with matching 140mm fixing patterns. Check the camera's datasheet to confirm compatibility before ordering.

What size cable entry does it have?

The base features a single 25mm cable entry point with a compression grommet. This accommodates standard Ethernet cables (Cat5e, Cat6) plus a power cable where PoE is not used.

Is the base weatherproof?

The aluminium construction and compression grommet at the cable entry provide weather resistance suitable for outdoor installations. The base should be mounted with the cable entry facing downward or to the side to prevent water ingress.

Can it be surface-mounted to brick or render?

Yes. The base has internal fixing points for screws or masonry anchors. Use appropriate fixings for the substrate (masonry plugs for brick, toggle bolts for hollow substrates) to support the combined weight of the base and camera.
