The Provence 1 Light Wall Light draws on French designs from the middle of the last century, brought up to date with a warm aged brass arm and a matt black shade. It is a single-lamp fitting with an adjustable knuckle joint, so you can angle the head to point light where you want it, whether that is up the wall, down onto a task or across a room. The mix of brass and black keeps it looking current while nodding to its heritage roots.

This wall light works well beside a bed as a reading light, in a study or home office, or in a hallway where a little directional light goes a long way. It suits both traditional and more pared-back interiors, and the adjustable head makes it a practical choice for spaces where the light needs to do a job rather than simply sit on the wall. It is rated for interior use only.

The frame is made from steel, with the shade in black painted steel and the arm in an aged brass finish. It takes a single E27 lamp up to 60W, which is not included, so you can pick the bulb to suit the room; colour temperature and brightness will depend on the lamp you choose. It runs on mains voltage and is a Class I fitting, so it needs an earth connection and should be installed by a qualified electrician. To care for it, switch off and let the bulb cool, then wipe the metal with a soft dry cloth. Avoid liquid cleaners and abrasives, as these can mark the finish over time. The fitting is covered by a two year guarantee.
