Description

This PoE network extender extends Power over Ethernet connections up to 100m beyond the standard 100m Ethernet cable run limit, allowing IP cameras, access points and other PoE devices to be installed up to 200m from the source switch or NVR. The extender supports IEEE 802.3af/at PoE standards and passes both data and power on a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable.

Designed for CCTV installations, access control systems and network infrastructure where devices need to be positioned beyond the standard 100m cable length, the extender requires no external power supply — it draws power from the incoming PoE line and re-transmits it to the outbound port. The unit installs inline between two Ethernet cables, typically mounted at the 100m point on a cable run using the side-mounted bracket holes.

The metal housing provides passive cooling and includes short circuit and overload protection to prevent damage to connected devices if a cable fault occurs. The 10/100Mbps bandwidth suits standard IP camera feeds, access points and similar devices that do not require gigabit speeds. Installation is plug-and-play with no configuration — connect the input port to the PoE source and the output port to the device.

Frequently Asked

Does the extender need its own power supply?

No. The extender is powered by the incoming PoE line from your NVR or network switch. It draws power from the source and re-transmits it to the connected device, so no external power supply is needed.

What's the maximum total cable length?

Up to 200m total. The extender allows a 100m run from the PoE source to the extender, then a further 100m from the extender to the end device.

What PoE standards does it support?

The extender supports IEEE 802.3af (15.4W) and IEEE 802.3at (30W) PoE standards. Check that your source switch or NVR provides sufficient wattage for the device you're connecting.

Can it be used outdoors?

The metal housing provides some protection but the unit is not IP-rated for direct outdoor exposure. For outdoor installations, mount the extender in a weatherproof enclosure or under a sheltered eave.
