Description

The Pietra is a six-light semi-flush chandelier with three curved polished chrome arms extending from a central stem, each arm splitting to hold two frosted glass petal shades. The 70cm diameter span and 40cm drop from ceiling to base make this a semi-flush fitting designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or lower, where a traditional drop chandelier would hang too far into the room. Each shade houses a G9 bulb (sold separately), with a combined maximum load of 240W across all six fittings.

Designed for dining rooms, bedrooms and living rooms with lower ceilings, the Pietra provides ambient light distributed evenly across the space rather than concentrated downward. The curved arms and petal-shaped glass shades soften the geometry of the polished chrome frame, creating a mid-point between traditional chandelier styling and contemporary simplicity. The frosted finish on the glass diffuses the light output from each bulb, reducing glare and creating a softer wash across ceilings and walls.

The polished chrome finish on the metal frame is reflective enough to catch and amplify available daylight during the day, but not so mirror-bright that it creates harsh glare under electric light at night. The fixture weighs 4.1kg once assembled, so it requires fixing into a ceiling joist or a reinforced plasterboard anchor rather than relying on a standard plasterboard cavity fixing alone. The chandelier is dimmable when paired with dimmable G9 LED or halogen bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch on the mains circuit.

Paired with a compatible dimmer, the six-bulb load can be lowered for relaxed evening use.

The chandelier takes six G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. We suggest pairing this with 3-5W G9 LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for ambient dining room or bedroom lighting. The maximum load is 240W total across all six fittings.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 40cm drop from ceiling to base makes this a semi-flush fitting designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or lower. It sits closer to the ceiling than a traditional drop chandelier, reducing the risk of head clearance issues.

Can it be dimmed?

The fitting itself is dimmable-ready. You will need dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch on the mains circuit. Not all G9 LEDs dim smoothly, so check bulb compatibility with your specific dimmer model before purchasing.
