The Pietra is a 3-light semi-flush ceiling light built around three curved antique brass arms that arc from a central mount, each holding a frosted glass shade shaped like a tulip or flared bell. The shades are frosted on the outer surface with a clear rim at the edge, diffusing light from three G9 bulbs (sold separately) while the clear rim adds a defined accent when lit.

Designed for rooms with standard ceiling heights of 2.4-2.7m, the Pietra works in bedrooms, hallways, dining rooms and living spaces where a semi-flush fitting is needed instead of a pendant. The 500mm drop from ceiling to lowest point of the shade sits close enough to avoid head-strike risk in circulation areas, while the 350mm spread across the arms provides coverage for rooms up to 12-14m². The antique brass finish on the metal frame shows a soft patina tone that pairs with traditional, mid-century and warm-toned contemporary interiors.

Each shade is held on a curved stem that sweeps outward from the central cluster, creating a sculptural branch effect when viewed from below. The frosted glass softens the direct glare from the G9 bulbs and casts a warm ambient wash across ceilings and walls. The fixture weighs 1.1kg and mounts to a standard UK ceiling rose with a backplate diameter of approximately 120mm. The antique brass finish is consistent across all metal components, avoiding mixed-metal patchwork.

The three G9 sockets share the 120W maximum, spreading a modest load across the shades. Dimmable capsule bulbs paired with a compatible dimmer let the fitting drop to a lower evening level.

What bulbs does the Pietra take?

The fitting takes three G9 capsule bulbs up to a combined 120W. Bulbs are sold separately. We suggest pairing this with G9 LED bulbs between 3-5W each and 2700K-3000K for warm ambient light in bedrooms and living rooms.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, but only when fitted with dimmable G9 bulbs. The fitting itself is dimmer-compatible, but non-dimmable bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail if connected to a dimmer switch.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The 500mm drop from ceiling to lowest point of the shades suits rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 2.7m. In rooms with ceilings above 2.7m the Pietra may appear too compact relative to the ceiling height; in rooms below 2.4m the shades may hang too close to head height in circulation areas.

How is the frosted glass cleaned?

The shades can be removed from the brass sockets for cleaning. Wipe with a soft cloth and warm soapy water, rinse and dry before refitting. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that can scratch the frosted finish.
