Description

The Pietra is a 10cm single-light pendant from Mantra featuring an antique brass canopy and a hand-blown frosted glass shade with a rough-cut crystal appearance. The shade tapers from a brass collar at the top to an irregular geometric point at the base, resembling a cut gemstone. A single G9 bulb sits inside the glass (sold separately, max 40W), and the light filters through both the frosted interior and the faceted outer surface.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables, and entrance halls where a small-scale pendant provides accent or task lighting without dominating the sightline. The 10cm diameter and 480mm total drop suit low to medium ceiling heights of 2.3-2.7m, and multiples can be grouped on a run or clustered at different heights for visual interest. The slim cable allows the pendant to hang 600-800mm above a worktop or side table without obstructing movement.

The antique brass finish carries a soft patina that reduces reflections compared to polished brass, pairing well with warm neutrals, mid-century wood tones, and darker cabinetry. The frosted glass softens the point-source glare from a G9 capsule bulb while the faceted outer surface creates subtle prism effects when lit. At 0.7kg the pendant is light enough to fit standard UK ceiling roses without additional bracing.

Is the Pietra dimmable?

Yes, provided you use a dimmable G9 LED bulb and a compatible LED dimmer switch. Standard mains dimmers designed for halogen bulbs may not work reliably with LED capsules.

What bulb does it take?

The pendant takes a single G9 capsule bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 3-5W warm-white LED G9 bulb at 2700K-3000K.

Can multiple Pietras be grouped together?

Yes. The 10cm diameter and slim cable make the Pietra well-suited to cluster installations where three or more pendants hang at staggered heights, or to linear runs above a kitchen island at even spacing.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 480mm total height works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above when the pendant hangs 600-800mm above a surface. Lower ceilings can accommodate the Pietra if the cable is shortened during installation.
