Description

The Paola is a 64cm six-light chandelier built around three gold-painted arms that loop upward from a central stem before splitting to hold six matt black conical shades in symmetrical arrangement. Each shade houses an E14 bulb (sold separately) and directs light downward, casting focused pools onto surfaces below while the gold frame reflects ambient light across the room.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Paola's 650-1650mm adjustable drop allows the chandelier to be positioned 700-900mm above a table surface depending on room proportions. The three-arm geometry distributes visual weight evenly without requiring a wide ceiling rose, making it suitable for rooms where a traditional five or six-arm chandelier would appear crowded. The black fabric shades absorb upward light spill, keeping the focus on the surfaces being lit rather than the ceiling.

The gold finish is applied paint over metal rather than plated brass, giving a warm metallic tone with slightly less reflectivity than polished brass or chrome. Five small teardrop crystal accents hang beneath the central hub, catching light without dominating the composition. At 2.8kg the chandelier has enough mass to resist movement from air currents but remains light enough for most standard ceiling fixings. The E14 lamp holders accept candle bulbs, golf-ball LEDs or flame-tip bulbs, allowing buyers to set the colour temperature and brightness to suit the room.

The 6 E14 lamps can be lowered together on dimmable bulbs, and the 650-1650mm drop range covers most ceiling heights of 2.4m or above for a warm room mood.

What bulbs does it take?

The Paola takes six E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. We suggest pairing this with 4-6W LED candle or golf-ball bulbs in warm white (2700-3000K) for dining and living areas. The downward-facing shades suit bulbs with visible filaments or flame-tip designs.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, if paired with dimmable E14 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit. The chandelier itself has no electronics. Dimming is controlled entirely by the bulb choice and the wall dimmer.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 650-1650mm adjustable drop works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. For a dining table the chandelier typically hangs 700-850mm above the surface, which requires approximately 2.5m ceiling height once the 64cm diameter of the fixture is accounted for.

How is the drop adjusted?

The chain is shortened during installation by removing links before fixing the chandelier to the ceiling rose. Once installed, the drop cannot be easily adjusted without taking the fitting down and re-threading the cable through the chain.
