Description

The Paola is a 700mm diameter 5-light chandelier built around a silver-painted metal frame with looping arms that curve upwards and outwards, each terminating in a black fabric shade. Five E14 bulb fittings sit inside the shades (bulbs sold separately), directing light downwards through the fabric while the silver frame reflects ambient light back into the room. Small crystal droplets hang beneath each arm on black cord pulls.

Designed for dining rooms with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above, the Paola hangs on an adjustable chain allowing drop heights between 730mm and 1900mm. The 700mm diameter suits tables 1400-1800mm in length or open-plan dining areas where the chandelier acts as a zoning element. The five-arm configuration provides balanced light distribution across a rectangular or oval table without creating harsh shadows. The silver-painted finish on the arms gives a cooler metallic tone than brass or gold, pairing with contemporary greys, whites and darker accent colours.

The black fabric shades soften the light output and reduce glare when the chandelier is viewed from seated positions, while the looping arm geometry creates visual interest when seen from different angles around a room. The crystal droplets add a classical reference without overwhelming the framework. At 4kg the chandelier requires a ceiling rose rated for suspension loads and standard UK wiring with earth connection. The fitting is dimmable when paired with dimmable E14 LED or halogen bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch.

For everyday dining use, five warm-white bulbs between 2700K and 3000K suit the black shades and silver frame well.

The adjustable chain allows drop heights between 730mm and 1900mm. For a dining table, the chandelier typically hangs 700-800mm above the table surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above. Lower ceilings can accommodate the fitting if the chain is shortened during installation.

Is the silver finish reflective?

The silver-painted finish has a semi-matt appearance rather than a mirror polish. It reflects ambient light softly without creating harsh glare or strong mirror reflections, giving a cooler metallic tone than brass or gold finishes.

Can the fabric shades be cleaned?
