Description

The Paola is a single wall light built around a curved gold-painted metal frame that loops back on itself to form a ring, from which a cream fabric shade and optional glass droplet hang. The E14 bulb sits inside the shade, which diffuses the light through the cream fabric to create a soft ambient glow rather than direct downlight.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms and living rooms where wall lighting needs to provide atmosphere without glare, the Paola works as bedside lighting when mounted at 1.2-1.5m from floor level, or as hallway accent lighting at regular intervals along a corridor. The 170mm projection from the wall means it sits close to the surface without protruding into walkways. The curved frame gives the fitting a sculptural quality that reads as decorative even when the light is switched off.

The gold-painted finish has a warm, slightly aged tone that pairs with brass door furniture, warm timber floors and heritage colour schemes. The optional glass droplet hangs on a gold-painted chain below the shade, adding movement and light refraction when the bulb is lit. The droplet can be removed during installation if a simpler profile is preferred. The lamp accepts any E14 bulb up to 40W (sold separately) and can be dimmed if paired with a dimmable bulb and compatible dimmer switch.

What bulb does it take?

The Paola takes a single E14 small Edison screw bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED candle or golf ball bulb between 4-6W and 2700K for ambient bedroom or hallway lighting.

Is the glass droplet included?

Yes, the glass droplet is included and hangs on a gold-painted chain below the shade. It can be removed during installation if you prefer a simpler profile without the droplet.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself is dimmable-compatible. To achieve dimming, pair it with a dimmable E14 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit. Non-dimmable bulbs will operate at full brightness only.

What height should it be mounted at?

For bedside use, mount the backplate at 1.2-1.5m from floor level so the shade sits roughly at pillow height. For hallway accent lighting, 1.5-1.8m from floor level positions the light at eye level without obstruction.
