Orion LED Semi-Flush Ceiling Light 20W 3000K - Wood & Black

The Orion is a 400mm semi-flush ceiling light combining a wooden outer ring with a matt black metal canopy and an integrated 20W LED light source. The wooden ring forms the visible perimeter of the fitting, with the black canopy sitting flush against the ceiling inside it. The LED sits recessed behind a diffuser plate, casting 1400 lumens of warm 3000K light through a 140° beam angle that spreads across the room rather than concentrating in a narrow cone.

Designed for low-ceiling rooms where a pendant would hang too far into the space, the Orion projects just 122mm from the ceiling surface. This makes it suitable for bedrooms, hallways, home offices and living rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m. The warm white light temperature sits in the middle of the residential range, providing enough brightness for general room illumination without the clinical tone of cooler LEDs. The 1400-lumen output is comparable to a traditional 100W incandescent bulb, giving sufficient light for a room of 12-16 square metres.

The wood finish on the outer ring introduces natural grain variation and warm brown tones that pair well with Scandinavian interiors, mid-century furniture and neutral colour schemes. The matt black canopy provides visual weight and contrast, anchoring the fitting against lighter ceiling tones. The wooden component is a veneer over a metal substrate rather than solid timber, which keeps the overall weight to 1.6kg and prevents warping in centrally heated homes. The non-dimmable LED driver is built into the canopy and connects to standard UK mains wiring via a ceiling rose.

Is the Orion dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver is non-dimmable and operates at full brightness when switched on. If dimming is required, consider a different model with dimmable driver compatibility.

The 1400-lumen output suits rooms of approximately 12-16 square metres as the primary light source. For larger rooms, pair with additional task lighting or wall lights to fill the perimeter.
