Description

The Ora is a 90cm sculptural pendant light built from high-gloss white ABS formed into a continuous twisted loop, with polished chrome accents at the canopy and central junction. Eight E27 bulb fittings sit within the frame, each diffused through an opal section that softens the light and reduces glare. The loop appears to twist through space, giving the fitting a sense of movement even when static.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and open-plan living areas with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Ora provides ambient illumination across a wide horizontal spread. The adjustable drop ranges from 350mm to 1500mm, allowing the pendant to be positioned 700-800mm above a table surface or higher for open ceilings. The eight bulbs are evenly spaced around the loop, distributing light in a balanced pattern that avoids hotspots.

The gloss white finish is automotive-grade ABS with a mirror-smooth surface that reflects surrounding light and colour, making the fitting respond to changes in daylight and artificial light throughout the day. The polished chrome components at the canopy and central hub add metallic contrast without overwhelming the white frame. The combined weight of 6kg gives the fitting a solid presence on the cable suspension, and the frame diameter of 900mm suits rooms of 15-25m² where a large fitting is needed.

The fitting accepts any standard E27 LED, CFL or filament bulbs (included in the box as CFLs, but replaceable with LEDs for longer life and lower running costs). Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific bulb and dimmer model chosen, both must support dimming for the feature to function.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Ora takes eight E27 (Edison screw) bulbs. CFL bulbs are included in the box. These can be replaced with E27 LED bulbs for lower energy consumption and longer life, we suggest replacing the CFLs with 6-8W warm-white LEDs.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, but only if paired with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself supports dimming, but both the bulbs and the dimmer must be rated for dimming. Standard non-dimmable LEDs will not dim and may flicker.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop is 350mm and the maximum is 1500mm. For installation above a dining table, the fitting typically sits 700-800mm above the surface, which requires a ceiling height of at least 2.4m. Higher ceilings can use the full 1500mm drop for a more dramatic effect.

What size room does it suit?

The 900mm diameter suits rooms of 15-25m². In smaller rooms the fitting may dominate; in larger open-plan spaces it can anchor a dining zone without lighting the entire area.
