Description

Office is a table lamp in dark grey. A long flat blade of a head, held almost level on a short upright column that rises from a low round base, with the whole thing in a cool dark grey. The head is a slim bar with a lit panel down its underside and a bright trim along its top edge, so what shows from the desk is a line of light rather than a lamp. The column carries a knuckle where the head pivots, letting the bar tip and swing. A small round control is set into the base beside the column. The finish is a fine-grained matt grey throughout. It remembers the mode and the brightness for as long as the adapter is left plugged in.

It is a lamp for a side table, a desk or a bedside, close enough to reach the switch from where you sit, and it lights the surface it stands on rather than the whole room. A pair either side of a bed or a sofa reads as deliberate where one alone reads as an afterthought, and two smaller lamps light a room more evenly than one large one. The head tilts and holds where it is set, so the light is aimed by hand rather than by moving the whole fitting. There is a main button: press to switch, turn to dim, so it is reached at the fitting rather than by following the flex down.

It plugs into an ordinary socket, so it needs no electrician. It is class II, double insulated, so it needs no earth, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms. It carries a G energy label.
