Description

The Knightsbridge Odina is an 82mm square tiltable downlight in black die-cast aluminium with a curved-edge bezel and a 25-degree tilt range. The fitting takes a standard GU10 bulb (sold separately) up to 10W and projects just 6mm from the ceiling once installed. The square bezel measures 82mm × 82mm and requires a 72mm circular cut-out in the ceiling with a minimum 70mm void depth above.

Designed for residential ceilings, hallways, bathrooms (dry zones only — IP20 rated), and light commercial applications including hospitality and retail, the Odina's tilt mechanism allows the beam to be directed towards a feature wall, artwork, or specific zone rather than straight down. The die-cast aluminium construction dissipates heat effectively and the black powder-coated finish resists discolouration under prolonged use.

The fitting is Class I (requires an earth connection) and compatible with any GU10 LED, halogen or energy-saving bulb up to 10W. Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb chosen — Knightsbridge's dimmable GU10 LEDs work with most leading-edge and trailing-edge dimmers, while non-dimmable bulbs should not be paired with dimmer circuits. The low 6mm projection makes the Odina suitable for low-ceiling spaces where deeper downlights would intrude into headroom.

What bulb does it take?

The Odina takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 10W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a GU10 LED bulb between 4-7W and 2700K-4000K depending on the room's purpose.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends entirely on the GU10 bulb you fit. Knightsbridge's dimmable GU10 LEDs work with most leading-edge and trailing-edge dimmers, but you must use a bulb specifically rated as dimmable. Non-dimmable bulbs will flicker or fail on dimmer circuits.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

A minimum 70mm void depth is required above the ceiling line to accommodate the bulb holder and wiring. The bezel projects just 6mm below the ceiling once installed, making it suitable for low-ceiling spaces.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means it can be used in dry zones of bathrooms (outside the zones around baths and showers). It is not rated for use directly above a bath or within a shower enclosure. For wet zones, consider Knightsbridge's IP65-rated downlights.
