Description

The Odina is an 82mm square fixed downlight made from die-cast aluminium with a black powder-coat finish and a GU10 lamp fitting. The fixed bezel directs light straight down from the ceiling plane without tilt or adjustment, creating accent or task lighting in residential, hospitality and light commercial spaces.

Designed for recessed ceiling installation with a 72mm cut-out and a minimum 70mm void depth above the ceiling line, the Odina fits joisted ceilings and suspended grid ceilings where that clearance is available. The 6mm projection from the ceiling surface gives a low-profile appearance that suits modern interiors and low-ceiling spaces. The IP20 rating makes this suitable for dry indoor areas — living rooms, bedrooms, offices, corridors, retail display zones — but not bathrooms or wet rooms.

The black finish provides visual contrast against white ceilings and blends into darker ceiling surfaces where the fitting needs to be less visible when unlit. The square bezel geometry offers an alternative to circular downlights in schemes where architectural details follow rectilinear rather than curved lines. The die-cast aluminium construction dissipates heat from the GU10 lamp efficiently and the Class I electrical classification requires an earth connection during installation.

The downlight accepts any standard GU10 LED lamp up to 10W (sold separately), giving control over colour temperature (2700K warm white through to 6500K daylight), beam angle (narrow spot, wide flood), and dimming behaviour depending on which GU10 lamp is chosen. Knightsbridge produces compatible GU10 lamps in dimmable, non-dimmable, and SmartKnight Wi-Fi-controllable variants, all of which fit this fitting.

What GU10 lamp does this take?

The Odina accepts any standard GU10 LED lamp up to 10W. Lamps are sold separately. Knightsbridge offers compatible GU10 lamps in warm white (2700K-3000K), neutral white (4000K), and daylight (6000K-6500K) colour temperatures, in dimmable, non-dimmable, and SmartKnight Wi-Fi variants.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the GU10 lamp fitted. If a dimmable GU10 lamp is installed, the Odina will dim when paired with a compatible dimmer switch. Non-dimmable GU10 lamps will not dim and may flicker or fail if connected to a dimmer circuit.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

A minimum 70mm clearance above the ceiling surface is required for safe installation and heat dissipation. The 72mm cut-out fits standard recessed downlight sizing, making this compatible with most joisted and suspended ceilings.

Can this be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the Odina is suitable for dry indoor areas only. Bathrooms require IP44 or IP65-rated fittings depending on zone placement.
