Description

The Knightsbridge Odina is a fixed round downlight with an 82mm white die-cast aluminium bezel and a 72mm ceiling cut-out, designed for GU10 bulbs up to 10W. The fitting sits 6mm proud of the ceiling once installed, giving a low-profile finish that suits residential rooms with standard or low ceiling heights.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and kitchens where a clean recessed light point is needed without the complexity of tilt or directional adjustment, the Odina requires a minimum 70mm void depth above the ceiling for safe installation. The fitting accepts any GU10 bulb (sold separately), allowing choice of colour temperature, beam angle and dimming capability depending on the specific bulb paired with it.

The white powder-coated aluminium bezel resists corrosion and blends into white or light-painted ceilings, making the fitting itself almost invisible when the light is off. The die-cast construction provides a rigid mounting for the GU10 lamp holder and distributes heat away from the bulb during operation. The IP20 rating confirms suitability for dry indoor locations but not for bathrooms or outdoor use.

What bulb does it take?

The Odina takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 10W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED GU10 between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for general room lighting.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming capability depends on the GU10 bulb fitted. If you fit a dimmable GU10 LED and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch, the downlight will dim. Non-dimmable GU10 bulbs will not dim regardless of the switch.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

A minimum 70mm void above the ceiling is required for safe installation. This allows clearance for the lamp holder, the GU10 bulb body, and thermal dissipation during operation.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating confirms the fitting is suitable for dry indoor locations only. For bathrooms or other wet environments, an IP65-rated downlight is required to meet UK wiring regulations for zones near water.
