Description

The Octavia is a 4-light crystal floor lamp built on a polished chrome stem with a circular weighted base and a branching crystal cluster at the head. Four G4 bulbs sit within the crystal arrangement, casting light through and around multiple tiers of faceted crystal droplets that hang from curved chrome arms. The crystals catch and scatter the light in multiple directions, turning the lamp into both a light source and a decorative reflector.

Standing 1.63m tall with a 450mm-diameter crystal head, the Octavia works as accent lighting in living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and lounge areas where overhead ceiling fittings are absent or insufficient. The lamp is dimmable when paired with dimmable G4 bulbs, allowing output to be adjusted from low ambient glow to full brightness. The polished chrome finish on the frame and base reflects surrounding light and pairs with contemporary, art deco and transitional interiors that lean towards metallic and glass finishes.

The crystal arrangement mimics a botanical form, with multiple droplets radiating outward from a central chrome framework like petals or seed heads. Each crystal is cut with multiple facets, so the lamp produces shifting highlights as you move around it or as daylight changes through the day. The 8.1kg weight comes primarily from the chrome base and stem, which anchor the lamp securely on carpet or hard floors without requiring wall fixing.

Four G4 halogen bulbs are included with the lamp. The specification states the lamp is not compatible with LED or CFL G4 bulbs, so replacement bulbs must be halogen capsules rated at 20W per socket (80W total maximum load). Can this lamp use LED G4 bulbs?

No. The specification states the Octavia is not compatible with LED or CFL G4 bulbs. Replacement bulbs must be G4 halogen capsules rated at up to 20W per socket. This is a transformer compatibility restriction built into the lamp's internal wiring.

Is the Octavia dimmable?

Yes, when paired with dimmable G4 halogen bulbs. The lamp connects to mains power via a standard UK plug, so dimming requires either a plug-in dimmer module or dimmable bulbs that respond to voltage variation at the socket. Not all halogen G4 bulbs are dimmable, so check bulb packaging when replacing.

How stable is it on carpet?

The 8.1kg weight and circular chrome base provide good stability on both hard floors and short-to-medium pile carpets. On deep-pile or shag rugs the base may sink slightly, which can affect stability if the lamp is knocked.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off and unplug the lamp before cleaning. Wipe each crystal droplet with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For fingerprints or smudges, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water and dry immediately. Avoid household glass cleaners or sprays, as residue can dull the facets over time.
