Description

The Octavia is a 1 light crystal wall light with an integrated on-wall switch, built around a polished chrome arm that sweeps to the right from a circular backplate. The arm terminates in a cluster of nine faceted crystal spheres arranged in a branching formation, each housing or framing a G4 20W halogen bulb at the centre. The crystals refract light across their cut surfaces, multiplying the single point source into a field of dispersed reflections.

Designed for symmetrical wall applications where two lights frame a mirror, headboard, or doorway, the Octavia Right pairs with the Octavia Left (sold separately) to create mirrored compositions. The 200mm projection and 310mm width suit bedroom walls flanking a bed, bathroom walls either side of a vanity mirror, and hallway walls bracketing artwork or console tables. The on-wall switch eliminates the need to reach a separate wall switch or remote, allowing the light to be controlled at the fitting itself.

The polished chrome finish reflects ambient room light when the bulb is off, maintaining a presence in daylight hours. The crystal spheres vary slightly in diameter and are arranged asymmetrically within the cluster, giving the fixture a hand-composed rather than machine-uniform appearance. At 0.96kg the wall light requires secure fixing to the wall substrate; the backplate covers a standard electrical box and conceals the cable run.

The G4 20W halogen bulb is included but is not LED or CFL compatible due to the transformer configuration. Dimming requires a trailing-edge dimmer on the circuit supplying the wall light, allowing the light output to be reduced from full brightness down to a low glow suitable for night-time navigation or ambient wash lighting.

Can I use an LED G4 bulb instead of the included halogen?

No. The Octavia uses a transformer configured for halogen loads and is not compatible with LED or CFL G4 bulbs. Attempting to fit an LED bulb may cause flickering, failure to light, or damage to the transformer.

Is the switch on the wall light itself or on the wall?

The switch is integrated into the wall light fitting, allowing you to turn the light on and off at the fixture without needing to reach a separate wall switch. The circuit supplying the wall light should remain permanently live.

Does the arm sweep left or right?

This is the Right version — the arm sweeps to the right when you face the wall. A Left version (IL30851) is available separately for creating symmetrical pairs either side of mirrors or beds.

What dimmer type is needed?

A trailing-edge dimmer is required on the circuit supplying the wall light. Leading-edge dimmers designed for resistive loads may cause buzzing or flickering with the G4 halogen transformer.
