Description

The Nordica is a table lamp built around a matt white metal frame with natural beech wood accents and an ivory white fabric shade. The arm adjusts on a metal joint between the base and the lamp head, allowing the shade to be angled from near-vertical to a shallow desk-reading position. The lamp accepts a single E27 bulb (sold separately) inside the fabric shade, which diffuses the light outward and downward.

Designed for desks, bedside tables and side tables where directed task light or ambient reading light is needed, the Nordica's adjustable arm gives flexibility without needing a fixed anglepoise mechanism. The beech wood section runs along the lower arm from the base to the elbow joint, providing a warm accent against the matt white metal. The base measures 200mm wide with a cross-bar footprint that sits stable on most surfaces without needing additional weight.

The ivory fabric shade measures approximately 200mm diameter and sits on a white metal frame that matches the base finish. The shade fabric is translucent enough to glow when the bulb is lit but opaque enough to avoid visible filament silhouettes. The braided fabric cable runs from the base to a UK 3-pin plug. Height adjusts between 580mm and 720mm depending on the arm angle, making the lamp suitable for standard desk heights (700-750mm) and bedside tables (400-500mm) alike.

The single E27 bulb can be a warm 2700K or 3000K type to suit reading, and the 2.5kg base holds the arm steady across its 270-550mm reach without tipping.

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. We suggest pairing this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for reading or desk work.

Is the lamp dimmable?

The lamp itself is dimmable-compatible, but you need both a dimmable E27 bulb and a suitable inline dimmer or plug-in dimmer module. The lamp does not include dimming controls built in.

How is the arm adjusted?

The arm pivots on a metal joint between the base and the lamp head. The joint holds position through friction, allowing the shade to be angled for desk reading, bedside reading, or ambient light. The arm does not extend telescopically, but the angle adjustment gives a height range of 580-720mm.

Is the beech wood finish consistent across pieces?

Natural beech wood varies in grain and tone between pieces. The beech section on the Nordica may show slight variation in grain pattern and colour warmth, which is characteristic of natural wood rather than a defect.
