Description

The Nordica is a 900mm diameter LED flush ceiling light with a black fabric shade wrapped around an opal white polycarbonate diffuser, housing an integrated 60W 3000K LED that produces 4200 lumens. The shallow 200mm height sits close to the ceiling, making it suitable for standard 2.4m ceiling heights and rooms where a pendant would intrude into headroom.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and open-plan spaces of 18-25m², the Nordica provides general ambient light rather than directed task lighting. The black fabric shade absorbs most of the LED output from the sides, allowing the majority of the 4200 lumens to exit through the opal diffuser at the base, creating a soft downward wash across the room without harsh shadowing. The 60W LED at 3000K sits in the warm white spectrum, comparable to halogen or traditional incandescent bulbs.

The black fabric outer shade shows a fine woven texture when viewed up close but reads as a solid matt black from floor level. The opal diffuser underneath glows evenly when the light is on, creating a floating disc effect against the darker outer drum. At 7.9kg the fitting requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or reinforced plasterboard anchor, not just a standard plaster ceiling rose. The LED is non-dimmable and non-replaceable. When the LED reaches end-of-life the entire unit needs replacing.

The three year warranty covers the integrated LED and driver, which form a single sealed unit fixed permanently to the ceiling. When the 60W LED at 4200lm reaches end of life the whole fitting is replaced rather than the bulb alone, so the sealed design trades bulb changes for a consistent output.

The fitting must be fixed securely to a ceiling joist or ceiling batten, or using heavy-duty plasterboard anchors rated for at least 10kg. A standard plastic ceiling rose anchor is not sufficient for this weight.
