Noon 6 Light Sputnik Semi-Flush Ceiling Light - Polished Nickel & Clear Glass

The Noon is an 800mm sputnik-style semi-flush ceiling light built around a polished nickel central sphere from which approximately 50 clear glass rods and polished nickel tubes radiate outward in a starburst formation. Six E14 bulb holders sit within the central core, each visible through the glass structure. Bulbs are sold separately and require a small Edison screw fitting, typically candle or golf ball shape, rated up to 20W each.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above where a statement ceiling fitting is needed without the drop of a full pendant, the Noon suits entrance halls, living rooms and dining rooms where the ceiling is the focal point. The 350mm overall height includes the canopy and central sphere, keeping the fitting within semi-flush proportions while the 800mm diameter gives presence across larger rooms. The combination of clear cylindrical glass tubes and elongated droplet-shaped rods creates varied refraction patterns when lit, scattering light across walls and ceiling rather than directing it downward.

Each glass rod is hand-fitted to the central nickel sphere, so minor positional variation between individual fittings is normal. The polished nickel finish on the frame and canopy reflects ambient light during the day and complements both warm and cool interior palettes. The fitting weighs 4.3kg when assembled, requiring secure fixing to a ceiling joist or reinforced rose. Dimmable when paired with dimmable E14 bulbs and a compatible trailing-edge dimmer.

What bulbs does the Noon take?

The fitting requires six E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Candle or golf ball shaped LED bulbs rated between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K warm white work well for ambient lighting. Each bulb position is rated up to 20W maximum.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

The Noon has a 350mm overall height from ceiling to lowest point, making it a semi-flush rather than a full pendant. It works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In rooms below 2.4m the diameter may feel disproportionate to the ceiling height.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, when paired with dimmable E14 bulbs and a compatible dimmer. Most LED bulbs require a trailing-edge dimmer rather than the older leading-edge type. Check bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility before purchase.

How is the glass cleaned?

Switch off at the mains and allow bulbs to cool. Wipe the glass rods and droplets with a dry microfibre cloth. For marks, a slightly damp cloth is acceptable but avoid soaking the nickel metalwork or getting moisture near the bulb holders. Do not use spray cleaners directly on the fitting.
