Description
This is a compact LED spot lamp with a clear lens and a white body, sized at 50mm across the face so it drops into the recessed downlights and track heads most homes already have. It draws 8W and gives 600 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, the softer end of white that suits evenings and lamplit rooms. The beam is narrow rather than broad, so light lands where you point it instead of washing across a whole ceiling. It is not dimmable, and is best paired with a plain switch.
We reach for this one where a kitchen has a run of downlights over the worktops, or where track heads pick out shelving, pictures or a mantelpiece. The tighter spread makes it a good partner to wider lamps in the same ceiling: use these to draw the eye to a few points and something broader to fill the space between. It suits hallways, landings and small utility rooms too, where a handful of bright pinpoints does more work than one flat overhead glow. It is our everyday answer to tired halogen spots.
The clear lens over a white body keeps it looking neat in an open track head as well as sunk out of sight in a downlight. Give the lens a wipe with a dry cloth from time to time, once it has gone cold; dust on a spot lamp dulls the beam quicker than you would expect, and sprays or polishes do it no favours. Keep it to dry rooms indoors rather than porches, shower zones or anywhere the weather reaches. Warm white is the tone we default to in a mixed ceiling, so if you are changing one lamp of several, this should sit quietly beside the ones already up there.

Frequently Asked
Will this fit my existing downlights?
It uses the standard GU10 twist-and-lock pins and measures 50mm across the face by 55mm tall, which is the usual size for domestic downlights and track heads.
Can I put it on a dimmer?
No. This lamp is non-dimmable and should be run from an ordinary on/off switch.
How warm is the light?
It is 3000K warm white, a soft and slightly golden white rather than a crisp blue-white. Colour rendering is above 80, so skin tones and food colours read naturally.
How wide is the light beam?
The beam is 36 degrees, a focused pool rather than a broad wash, which is why it works well over worktops and for lighting artwork.
How long should it last?
It is rated at 15,000 hours of average life at 8W, drawing far less power than the halogen spots it replaces.
Can I use it in a bathroom?
It is rated IP20, so it belongs in dry indoor rooms and not in areas exposed to splashing or steam.
