Description
Metropole is a wall light in black. It carries the same deep matt black dome with a pale lining as the table lamp in the range, here on a slim black arm that comes out from a small rectangular wall plate and curves upward, so the shade sits proud of the wall and turns along it or out into the room on its brass pivot. The bulb is visible up inside the dome. The flex loops out of the top of the shade, runs down alongside the arm and drops below the wall plate, on show rather than chased into the wall. The plate itself fixes with two visible screws.
A wall light earns its place by leaving the surface below it clear. Beside a bed where there is no room for a table lamp, over a work bench, up a stairwell or either side of a mirror, it gives directed light without taking up any space. Hung as a pair either side of a bed, each person gets their own light and their own switch, which is in the housing on top of the shade.
It runs on a 150cm black cable to an ordinary socket, so it can go up without an electrician, though the cable will be visible on the wall, which is part of the look. The holder is E27 and takes up to 40W. It is class II, double insulated, so it needs no earth, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

Frequently Asked
Does it need hard wiring?
No. It runs on a 150cm cable to an ordinary socket, so it can be mounted without an electrician. The cable will be on show, which is part of the range's look.
Can the shade be angled?
Yes. It pivots on the arm and holds where it is set, so the light can be turned along the wall or out into the room.
Where is the switch?
In the housing on top of the shade.
Which bulb does it take?
An E27 lamp up to 40W. Bulbs are supplied separately.
Will a pair match either side of a bed?
Yes, and each has its own switch.
Can it go in a bathroom?
No. It is IP20, for dry interior rooms only.
