Description

A slim black cylinder on a fine suspension, this one drops from the track to put a tight pool of light exactly where it is wanted. The LED is integral and draws 5W, giving 390 lumens of warm white at 2700K, which reads soft against timber, brick and darker paint. The drop is adjustable, and the head is narrow enough that a row of them reads as a line rather than a row of objects. Dimming is by triac control, so evening levels come down without the light turning thin.

We would hang a run of these over a kitchen island, a long worktop or a dining table, spaced evenly so each head covers its own patch. The narrow beam also suits a shop counter, a bar, or artwork on a wall, where the aim is a defined pool rather than general brightness. A triac dimmer is needed for the dimming to work, and the range includes a controller that serves an entire system, so there is no need to hunt one down elsewhere. It suits anyone building lighting in lines rather than fixed points.

The finish is black across body and suspension, which keeps the fitting quiet against a dark ceiling and stops it catching the eye when it is off. The driver is built in, so nothing extra hangs on the track. Keep it to dry indoor rooms. For cleaning, isolate the circuit, let the head lose its heat, then run a soft dry cloth along the body; skip the kitchen sprays, as they mark the coating. It carries a three year warranty.
