Description

The MagDuo Battery Expansion Box is a dark grey steel enclosure designed to house additional backup batteries for ESP MagDuo fire alarm control panels. The box measures 340 x 350 x 101mm and provides a secure, wall-mountable housing for extending the standby power capacity of a fire alarm system beyond the capacity of the main panel's internal battery compartment.

Designed for commercial and industrial fire alarm installations where extended standby times are required by building regulations or site specifications, the expansion box allows installers to add battery capacity without replacing the main control panel. The box ships with conduit bushes for cable entry, a coupling to connect to the main MagDuo panel, and pre-terminated battery leads ready to connect to the batteries and the panel's power supply unit.

The dark grey powder-coated steel finish matches the standard MagDuo panel enclosure, allowing the expansion box to be wall-mounted alongside the main panel without visual mismatch. The four corner mounting holes accept M4 or M5 fixings for installation onto blockwork, plasterboard with suitable backing, or metal stud partitions. The 2kg net weight sits comfortably within the load capacity of standard wall fixings when the box is empty, though installers must account for the additional weight of batteries when specifying fixings.
