Maddison 2 Light Cylinder Crystal Pendant Light - French Gold

The Maddison is a 150mm-diameter cylinder pendant light built from vertical strands of rectangular and square faceted crystals suspended within a French gold metal frame. Two G9 bulb fittings sit inside the crystal column, with light passing through the faceted surfaces to create refraction and sparkle across the clear crystal. The French gold finish on the frame, canopy and suspension cable gives a warm metallic tone that contrasts with the clear crystal while remaining visibly present behind the strands.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands, bedside positions and hallway feature lighting, the narrow 150mm diameter allows the pendant to be used in pairs or threes without overwhelming smaller rooms. The 420mm minimum drop positions the pendant 300-400mm above a worktop or 600-700mm above a dining table depending on ceiling height, with the adjustable cable allowing drops up to 2000mm for high-ceilinged entrance halls or stairwells. The French gold canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and the cable conceals the wiring run.

Each crystal piece is cut with multiple facets to catch and redirect light from the internal G9 bulbs, turning the entire column into a sparkling element rather than a simple shade. The rectangular crystals are aligned in vertical rows to form an even outer surface without gaps or irregularities, with the density of the crystal layer obscuring the internal frame when the pendant is viewed from the side. What bulbs does it take?

The Maddison takes two G9 capsule bulbs, each up to 33W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this pendant with warm-white G9 LED bulbs between 3W-5W and 2700K-3000K to create ambient sparkle through the crystal without excessive brightness.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, if dimmable G9 bulbs are fitted. The pendant itself is compatible with standard domestic dimmer switches, but the bulbs must be labelled as dimmable to avoid flickering or buzzing.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum 420mm drop suits ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards when used over a dining table or kitchen island. The cable is adjustable up to 2000mm for high-ceilinged entrance halls or stairwells, though most domestic installations use 600-1200mm drops.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off the power and allow the bulbs to cool. Wipe each crystal piece gently with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For deeper cleaning, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water works, but avoid soaking the metal frame or using household sprays that can leave residue on the faceted surfaces.
