Description
Clear ribbed glass sits in a satin black frame here, held close enough to the ceiling to stay well out of the way in rooms where headroom is short. The glass is the part you notice: fine vertical ribbing that breaks the light into narrow lines and gives a bit of sparkle without heading anywhere near chandelier territory. Two E14 lamps sit behind it, so the spread is even rather than pooling under a single bright point, and at 28cm across the whole thing reads as a small, tidy fitting.
We reach for this one in hallways, landings, box rooms and anywhere a hanging pendant would come down into head height. It is rated against splashing water too, which opens up bathrooms, en suites, cloakrooms and utility rooms. That makes it a sensible choice for a flat or a cottage where ceilings are low and the same look needs to carry from the hall through to the shower room. Fit dimmable lamps and it will work happily on a dimmer circuit.
The satin black has a soft, low sheen rather than a gloss, which keeps the metalwork quiet and lets the clear glass do the talking. For cleaning, switch off at the wall and let things cool, then work along the ribs of the glass with a soft cloth; the black frame prefers a dry cloth and nothing abrasive or solvent based. It carries a one year warranty. If black feels too firm against your ceiling, we stock the same fitting in polished chrome, antique brass and satin nickel, and we would happily pair any of them with golf ball LED lamps, which suit the shallow glass better than a standard bulb shape. Lamps are not included.

Frequently Asked
What lamps does it take and what is the limit?
It takes two E14 small screw lamps, each up to 40W. Golf ball LEDs are the shape we would choose, as they sit neatly inside the shallow glass.
Can it go in a bathroom?
Yes. It is IP44 rated for protection against splashing water, so it is suitable for bathrooms, en suites and shower rooms in the appropriate zones.
How far does it drop from the ceiling?
It projects 150mm, with an overall diameter of 285mm, so it stays close to the ceiling in rooms with limited headroom.
Is it dimmable?
Yes, provided you fit dimmable lamps and use a compatible dimmer. No dimmer is supplied with the fitting.
How do I clean the ribbed glass?
Switch off, let the lamps cool, then wipe along the ribbing with a soft cloth. A little warm soapy water on the cloth lifts dust from the grooves; avoid abrasive creams and solvents.
What size is the glass shade itself?
The clear ribbed glass measures 215mm across and 90mm high.
