Description

The LYYT flexible link is a 150mm two-core cable fitted with snap connectors at both ends, designed to join or extend runs of 8mm single colour LED strip lighting without soldering. Each connector clips onto the copper contact pads on standard 8mm LED tape, securing the connection mechanically and electrically. The red and black cores carry positive and negative supply from one strip section to the next.

Sold in packs of five, these links suit installations where LED strip needs to turn corners, bridge gaps across furniture, or extend between separate sections of a room. The 150mm cable length allows strips to route around obstacles or span small distances where continuous tape cannot reach. The snap connectors open and close with finger pressure, requiring no tools or heat application, which makes them suitable for DIY lighting projects, under-cabinet lighting, shop displays and accent lighting in hospitality settings.

Each link weighs 3g and measures 165mm overall including both connectors. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations where the tape and connectors will not be exposed to moisture or condensation. The two-core design is compatible only with single colour LED strip. RGB or RGBW tape requires additional cores and a different connector type. The connectors grip 8mm-wide tape specifically; wider or narrower tape widths will not fit securely.

What width LED strip does this fit?

The snap connectors are sized for 8mm-wide single colour LED strip. Wider strips (10mm, 12mm) or narrower strips (5mm) will not fit securely and may cause poor electrical contact.

Can I use this with RGB or RGBW LED tape?

No. This link has only two cores (red and black), which carry power to single colour LED tape. RGB tape requires four cores (red, green, blue, common), and RGBW tape requires five. Use a multi-core connector for colour-changing tape.

Is soldering required?

No. The snap connectors clip onto the copper contact pads on the LED strip without tools or heat. Open the connector, slide the strip in with the copper pads facing the contact pins, then close the connector to secure.

Can these be used outdoors?

No. The IP20 rating means the connectors are not protected against moisture ingress. Use these links only in dry indoor locations where they will not be exposed to rain, condensation or humidity.
