Description

The LYYT single colour LED strip controller is an inline unit designed to control single-colour LED tape running on 5-24Vdc power supplies. The controller sits between the power supply and the LED tape via 2.1mm x 5.5mm DC jack connections, providing three-button control for dimming, speed adjustment and mode selection without requiring hard-wired installation.

Suited to under-cabinet lighting, display cabinets, architectural accent lighting and retail installations where the tape needs adjustable brightness or simple animation sequences, the controller handles continuous current up to 6A and peak current to 12A. The three buttons on the 42mm x 13mm x 5mm control module adjust brightness incrementally, cycle through built-in sequence programs, and control the speed of those sequences. The 136mm cable length on each side allows the controller to sit behind furniture or in a control box while the tape and power supply remain accessible.

The controller works with any single-colour LED tape rated between 5Vdc and 24Vdc, making it compatible with both USB-powered decorative tape and professional 24V architectural tape. The compact white housing blends into most installation contexts and the DC jack connections mean the controller can be swapped or removed without cutting or soldering wires.

Frequently Asked

What LED tape is this compatible with?

The controller works with any single-colour LED tape rated between 5Vdc and 24Vdc. It does not support RGB, RGBW or colour-changing tape — only single-colour strips in white, warm white, red, blue, green or amber.

What do the three buttons do?

The MODE button cycles through built-in sequence programs (fade, flash, etc.). The SPEED button adjusts how fast those sequences run, and also acts as an off switch. The LIGHT button controls brightness incrementally from dim to full output.

How much LED tape can it control?

The controller handles continuous current up to 6A and peak current to 12A. At 12V this supports approximately 72W of LED tape (6m of typical 12W/m tape). At 24V it supports approximately 144W of LED tape. Check your tape's current draw per metre and calculate total run length accordingly.

Can it be hard-wired instead of using DC jacks?

The unit is designed for DC jack connections. Hard-wiring would require cutting the cables and soldering or using terminal connectors, which voids warranty and removes the convenience of tool-free installation. If hard-wired control is required, consider a controller designed for direct wiring.
