The LYYT RGBW WiFi controller is a dual-interface LED strip control system combining a WiFi receiver module with a glass touch wall plate, both capable of controlling 12V or 24V RGB and RGBW LED tape. The WiFi module connects to the Tuya smartphone app, enabling remote control, voice commands via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, and programmable lighting scenes. The wall plate operates independently via 2.4GHz RF, providing manual control without needing a phone or network connection.

Designed for residential LED strip installations in kitchens, under-cabinet lighting, cove lighting and entertainment areas, the system handles up to 16A total output across four channels (red, green, blue, white). The WiFi controller sits between the power supply and the LED strip, with screw terminals accepting input from a 12V or 24V DC supply and output connections running to the strip via W/B/G/R/V+ terminals. The glass wall plate mounts in a standard UK back box and communicates with the receiver module within a 10m range.

The Tuya app provides eight pre-set lighting effect modes, a sound-to-light function that syncs colour changes to ambient audio, a colour scroll mode, dimming control across all channels, and a timer function for automated on/off scheduling. The wall plate offers nine additional pre-set effects, independent speed and brightness adjustment via touch buttons, and a dedicated white LED control button for toggling the white channel on RGBW strips. Multiple receiver modules can be paired to the same wall plate for synchronised control across separate LED strip zones.

The controller module measures 70mm x 40mm x 20mm and weighs 80g, fitting into most concealed installation spaces behind cabinetry or within ceiling voids. The 1.95KHz PWM frequency provides flicker-free dimming across the full brightness range. Does this work with both RGB and RGBW LED strips?

Yes. The controller supports both RGB (three-channel) and RGBW (four-channel) LED strips operating at 12V or 24V. When used with RGB strip, the white channel output is not connected. When used with RGBW strip, all four channels are active and the wall plate's dedicated white button controls the separate white LED channel.

What's the maximum length of LED strip this can control?

The 16A maximum output rating determines strip length depending on the strip's power draw per metre. For typical 12V RGB strip at 14.4W per metre, the controller handles approximately 13 metres. For 24V RGBW strip at 19.2W per metre, it handles approximately 10 metres. Refer to your specific strip's wattage rating and calculate total load to stay within 16A at your supply voltage.

Does the wall plate need mains power?

No. The wall plate is battery-powered and communicates wirelessly with the receiver module via 2.4GHz RF. The receiver module draws power from the 12V or 24V LED strip power supply. The wall plate must be within 10m of the receiver for reliable control.

Can multiple wall plates control the same LED strip?
