LYYT RGB LED Strip Y-Splitter Lead - 4-Pin Connector

The LYYT RGB LED strip Y-splitter lead is a three-way cable accessory with 4-pin connectors (B, R, G, V+) designed to split a single RGB LED tape run into two parallel branches. One input connector receives power and signal from a controller or amplifier, and two output connectors feed separate tape runs without needing additional wiring back to the source.

Used in residential and commercial RGB tape installations where a single controller needs to power two separate runs — such as opposite sides of a room, split ceiling coves, or divided under-cabinet lighting. Each output cable is rated to 2A, making the splitter suitable for RGB tape lengths up to approximately 5m per branch depending on the tape's power draw per metre. The 4-pin connectors fit standard 10mm and 12mm RGB LED tape with matching pin spacing.

The Y-splitter can also function as a junction between an RGB amplifier (AVSL 153.771UK) and additional tape sections when extending runs beyond the controller's native output capacity. The compact junction box measures 18 x 10mm and the total cable assembly is 305mm long, giving enough reach to route the two output branches in different directions without tension on the connectors.

Supplied with four interchangeable pin headers to match different RGB tape connector types. The white PVC cable jacket resists UV yellowing and remains flexible at typical installation temperatures.

What width of RGB tape does this fit?

The 4-pin connectors fit standard 10mm and 12mm RGB LED tape with matching pin spacing. The pin headers supplied allow adaptation to different connector styles used by various tape manufacturers.

How much tape can each output support?

Each output is rated to 2A. If the RGB tape draws 0.4A per metre (typical for mid-density 5050 RGB tape), each branch can support approximately 5m. Check the tape's power consumption per metre and calculate accordingly.

Can this be used with an RGB amplifier?

Yes. The Y-splitter can connect between an RGB amplifier (such as AVSL 153.771UK) and two separate tape runs, allowing extended installations beyond the controller's native capacity. The amplifier boosts the signal to maintain colour consistency across longer total runs.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

The cable and connectors are not IP-rated and should only be used indoors or in dry, sheltered outdoor locations where the connections will not be exposed to moisture.
