Description

The LYYT RGB LED strip T connector joins three sections of 12mm RGB LED tape in a T-shaped configuration using a snap-fit clip mechanism that requires no soldering. Each connector measures 34 x 34 x 5mm and accepts standard 12mm RGB strip with four connection points (common positive and separate red, green, blue negatives). The pack contains five connectors rated for low-voltage 12V installations.

Designed for branching LED strip runs in retail displays, under-cabinet lighting, architectural cove installations and event setups where the main strip needs to split into perpendicular directions. The snap-fit design holds the strip ribbon in place with spring-loaded metal contacts that pierce the copper pads on the tape, forming the electrical connection without heat or solder. This makes the connector reusable if the strip layout needs to change.

The white ABS housing is IP20 rated for dry indoor use only and weighs 3.5g per connector. The T-shape allows one input strip and two output branches, though the connector can also be used as a straight inline coupler by leaving one of the three positions empty. Compatible specifically with LYYT professional 12mm RGB tape and other brands using the same 12mm four-pad layout, though compatibility should be verified before purchase if mixing manufacturers.

Does this require soldering?

No. The connector uses a snap-fit clip mechanism with spring-loaded metal contacts that pierce the copper pads on the LED strip when the cover is pressed closed. No soldering iron or electrical tools are needed.

Can it be reused if I change the layout?

Yes. The clip opens to release the strip, allowing the connector to be repositioned or reused on a different section of tape. The metal contacts may compress slightly after multiple uses but typically remain functional for several re-connections.

Is it compatible with all 12mm RGB strip?

It is designed for LYYT 12mm RGB tape and works with other brands using the same 12mm four-pad layout (common positive, separate RGB negatives). Strip with different pad spacing or single-colour variants will not align correctly. Check the strip specification before ordering.

Can it be used outdoors?

No. The IP20 rating means the connector is suitable for dry indoor environments only. It is not water-resistant and will corrode if exposed to moisture or outdoor conditions.
