Description

The LYYT RGB LED Strip T Connector is a three-way junction for 10mm RGB LED tape, splitting one incoming run into two outgoing runs at 90° angles. Each connector uses a snap-fit clamp mechanism that grips the copper contact pads on the tape without requiring soldering, holding the tape in place and maintaining electrical contact across all four RGB channels (red, green, blue, common positive).

Designed for installations where LED tape needs to branch into multiple directions, the T connector suits under-cabinet lighting that wraps around corners, cove lighting that splits across adjacent walls, retail display cases with multiple shelves, and signage where tape runs divide into separate letters or sections. The 10mm width is specific to standard RGB tape (not RGBW or single-colour variants), and the IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor environments only.

Each connector measures 50 x 32 x 5mm and weighs 3.1g, small enough to tuck behind shelving, inside cove recesses, or behind cabinet kickboards. The white polycarbonate housing resists UV yellowing under indoor light and stays cool during operation. Supplied in a pack of five, the connectors allow for multiple branch points across a single installation without needing to order separately for each junction.

Does this work with single-colour or RGBW LED tape?

No. The connector is designed for 10mm RGB tape only, which has four contact pads (red, green, blue, common positive). Single-colour tape typically has two contacts, and RGBW tape has five contacts, so the pin configuration will not match.

Is soldering required?

No. The connector uses a snap-fit clamp that grips the copper contact pads on the LED tape. Lift the clamp, insert the tape with the contacts facing the pins, and press the clamp closed to secure.

Can it be used outdoors?

No. The IP20 rating means the connector has no protection against moisture or dust ingress. Use only in dry indoor locations. For outdoor installations, look for IP65-rated connectors and tape.

What's the maximum current per connector?

The specification does not list a maximum current rating. Most 10mm RGB tape draws between 0.5-1A per metre depending on LED density, so keep total tape length per T connector to under 3-4m to avoid voltage drop and overheating at the junction.
