Description

The LYYT RGB LED strip controller is a 42mm in-line DC controller with three-button control for static colour selection and internal sequence programs. The controller accepts 5-24Vdc input via a 5.5mm DC jack socket and outputs to a 4-pin RGB+ connector, making it compatible with standard RGB LED tape runs at low voltage.

Designed for decorative RGB LED tape installations in home entertainment units, under-cabinet lighting, alcove wash lighting and accent installations where mains-voltage controllers would be inappropriate, the controller sits between the DC power supply and the LED tape run. The three buttons select between static colour output (red, green, blue and mixed colours), internal sequence programs (colour fade, colour chase, strobe effects), and adjust the speed of dynamic programs. The controller handles up to 3 x 2A continuous current across the three RGB channels, supporting tape runs up to approximately 5m depending on tape power draw per metre.

The controller body measures 42 x 13 x 5mm and weighs 3g, small enough to be concealed behind furniture, inside entertainment units or within shallow plinths. The 136mm wire length on each side gives flexibility in positioning without requiring extension cables in most installations. The white plastic housing matches white LED tape backing and blends into light-coloured surfaces when visibility is not a concern.

Frequently Asked

What length of LED tape can this controller support?

The controller handles up to 3 x 2A continuous current (6A total across the three RGB channels). For typical RGB LED tape drawing 1.2A per metre, this supports approximately 5m of tape. Higher-power tape draws more current and reduces the supported run length accordingly.

What voltage power supply does it need?

The controller accepts 5-24Vdc input via the 5.5mm DC jack. Match the power supply voltage to your LED tape voltage — most RGB LED tape runs at 12Vdc or 24Vdc. The controller does not convert voltage, it only controls the RGB colour output.

What controls are available?

Three buttons control mode/demo selection, speed adjustment (or off), and colour selection. Static colours include red, green, blue and mixed colour outputs. Internal programs include colour fade, colour chase and strobe effects.

Can it be controlled remotely?

No. This is a manual three-button controller only. For remote control or app-based control, see AVSL's RF or Wi-Fi RGB controller options available separately at Niori.
