The LYYT mounting clips are spring-steel brackets designed to hold IP68-rated LED tape profiles against walls, ceilings and joinery. Each clip features a formed channel that grips the outer edge of the aluminium extrusion and a screw-fixing hole for permanent installation. Sold in packs of 10, the clips suit LYYT's IP68 waterproof profile range and provide spacing of approximately 300-400mm along typical profile runs.

The clips are used in both indoor and outdoor installations where waterproof LED tape profiles need to be fixed to surfaces without using adhesive tape. Common applications include under kitchen cabinets, bathroom mirror surrounds, outdoor architectural lighting on fascias or pergolas, and marine environments where salt spray or condensation make adhesive less reliable. The spring-steel construction provides a clamping force that compensates for minor thermal expansion of the aluminium profile.

Each clip measures approximately 25mm wide and 15mm deep, with a single 3.5mm screw hole for fixing to surfaces. The galvanised steel finish resists corrosion in wet environments and the spring action allows the clip to be snapped onto the profile after the profile is screwed or glued to the mounting surface, making final assembly straightforward. Ten clips typically support 2-3 metres of profile length depending on the installation angle and weight of the LED tape inside.

What spacing between clips is recommended?

For horizontal runs, space clips 300-400mm apart. For vertical or overhead runs, reduce spacing to 250-300mm to compensate for gravity. Always use at least two clips per profile length, one near each end.

Can the clips be used outdoors?

Yes. The galvanised steel finish resists corrosion in outdoor installations. The clips are designed specifically for IP68 waterproof profiles, which are themselves rated for wet environments.

Do the clips fit all LED profile types?

No. These clips are dimensioned for LYYT's IP68 waterproof profile range. They will not fit standard surface-mount or recessed profiles unless those profiles share the same outer dimensions. Check the profile cross-section before ordering.

How are the clips installed?

Fix the clips to the mounting surface using 3.5mm screws at the required spacing. Once all clips are in place, snap the aluminium profile into the clip channels. The spring action holds the profile without additional fixings.
