Description

These LYYT mounting clips are sold in packs of 10 and provide mechanical fixing for LYYT deep, shallow and tube aluminium LED profile extrusions. Each clip is a two-piece steel bracket with a spring-loaded upper plate that hooks into the profile channel and a fixed lower plate that screws to the mounting surface. The design allows the profile to be snapped into place after the clips are fixed, avoiding the need to pre-thread cables through a fully mounted channel.

Designed for ceiling and wall installations where the LED profile needs to be removable for maintenance or lamp replacement, the clips suit residential under-cabinet lighting, retail display shelving, office task lighting and hospitality feature lighting. Clips are typically spaced 300-500mm apart along the profile run depending on load and profile type. The spring mechanism holds profiles securely without additional adhesive, and the polished steel finish sits flush against white or silver aluminium extrusions.

Each clip accepts a single fixing screw through the base plate into plasterboard, timber stud, masonry or metal. The upper plate's hooked edge slots into the recessed channel on compatible LYYT profiles and clicks into place under spring tension. Removal reverses the process. Press the upper plate to release the spring and lift the profile clear. The clips work with LYYT's deep-section profiles (typically 20mm+ height), shallow profiles (sub-15mm height) and tube/circular profiles, but check dimensional compatibility with your specific profile model before ordering.

What profiles are these compatible with?

The clips fit LYYT-branded aluminium profiles in the deep, shallow and tube ranges. Compatibility depends on the profile's channel recess dimensions, so verify your profile model accepts these clips before ordering. They are not universal across all brands.

How many clips are needed per metre of profile?

Typically 2-3 clips per metre depending on the profile weight and the load from the LED strip inside. For a 2m ceiling run with a mid-weight profile, 4-5 clips spaced 400-500mm apart provide adequate support.

Can the profile be removed after installation?

Yes. The spring-loaded upper plate allows the profile to be pressed and lifted clear of the clips without removing the base fixings. This makes maintenance, redecorating and LED strip replacement straightforward.

What fixing screws are needed?

Each clip requires one screw through the base plate. The screw type depends on the mounting surface: 3.5mm self-tapping screws for timber studs, plasterboard anchors with 3-4mm screws for drywall, or masonry plugs with 4mm screws for brick or concrete. Screws are not included.
