LYYT COB 24V LED Tape 50m IP20 Warm White Reel

Our LYYT COB LED tape gives you a continuous line of light with no visible dots along the run. COB stands for chip on board, and this strip packs 528 tightly spaced LEDs into every metre, topped with a phosphor coating that spreads the light into one even band. That means you get a clean warm white glow rather than the spotty look of older LED strip lights. It runs on 24V DC at a modest 14W per metre, so power use and heat stay low.

The tape is flexible, lightweight and comes on a 50m reel that you cut to length at the marked points every 45mm. A self-adhesive backing on the reverse lets you fix it in place without extra clips or channels, though a suitable profile can help with heat and finish on longer runs. With a colour rendering index of Ra>90, colours look true, which makes it a sensible choice for hospitality, retail, offices, displays and exhibition work. The 160 degree beam angle throws light wide across the surface in front of it.

This is the IP20 version, so it is for indoor use only and should be kept away from damp or splashes. The strip measures 10 x 2mm in cross-section, keeping it slim enough to tuck into shelving, coving and tight recesses. We do not recommend running single lengths beyond 10m, as voltage drop can dim the far end; for longer areas, split the run and feed power from both ends or use multiple drivers. Note that a compatible 24V DC driver (US: power supply) is needed and is sold separately.

Do I need a separate driver?

Yes. This tape runs on 24V DC, so you need a compatible 24V driver, sometimes called a power supply, rated for the total wattage of your run. Size it above your actual load.

Can I use it in a bathroom or outdoors?

No. This is the IP20 version and is rated for indoor use only. Keep it away from moisture and splashes. For wet or outdoor areas you need a higher IP rating.

Where can I cut the tape?

You can cut it at the marked points every 45mm along the reel. Only cut on these designated lines so each section keeps working correctly.

How long a run can I connect?

We do not recommend single lengths over 10m. Beyond that, voltage drop can make the far end dimmer. For longer areas, split the run or feed power from both ends.

Why does COB look different to normal LED strip?

COB uses 528 closely packed LEDs per metre under a phosphor layer, which blends them into one continuous line with no visible dots or spots along the tape.

Is the adhesive backing strong enough on its own?

The self-adhesive backing suits clean, dry surfaces and easy fitting. On longer runs or textured surfaces, an aluminium profile helps hold it and manage heat.
