Description
The LYYT motion sensor wall light runs on three AAA batteries and houses 9 SMD LEDs delivering 110 lumens at 6500K daylight white. The head rotates 360° on its base, allowing the light to be directed across doorways, shed interiors, or porch steps. A passive infrared sensor covering 120° detects movement up to 3 metres away, triggering the LEDs to illuminate for a preset duration before switching off.
Designed for sheltered outdoor and indoor applications where mains wiring is impractical, the light suits porches, external storage sheds, caravans, garages, lofts and stairwells. The unit mounts to a wall bracket supplied with the light and can be lifted off the bracket to serve as a handheld torch when needed. The battery compartment accepts standard AAA alkaline or rechargeable cells (not included), and the sensor can be overridden to keep the light on continuously in torch mode.
The white polycarbonate housing measures 90mm cube and weighs 94g unladen, light enough to mount on plasterboard with the included fixings or timber using the supplied screws. The sensor angle is fixed at 120° horizontal coverage but the rotating head allows the beam to sweep left, right, up or down once motion is detected. At 110 lumens the output suits task lighting rather than area floodlighting, providing enough brightness to unlock a door, locate stored items, or navigate steps safely.

Frequently Asked
How long do the batteries last?
Battery life depends on how frequently the sensor triggers and how long each activation lasts. In low-traffic areas with short activation times, a set of alkaline AAAs may last several weeks. High-traffic areas or continuous torch mode will drain batteries within days.
Can it be used outdoors?
The light is suitable for sheltered outdoor locations only — porches with overhead cover, enclosed carports, or recessed doorways. It is not weatherproof and should not be exposed to direct rain or water spray.
How is the sensor triggered?
The passive infrared sensor detects changes in heat signature across its 120° field of view up to 3 metres away. Moving across the sensor's field triggers the light more reliably than moving directly towards it.
Can the light stay on without motion?
Yes. The unit can be switched to continuous mode for use as a handheld torch when removed from the wall bracket, or to provide constant light in a fixed position. This overrides the motion sensor until switched back.
